Ealing Broadway Safe Haven |

Good Morning,
🌃Operating on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights throughout December as well as on Christmas Eve, Boxing Day and New years Eve, the Safe Haven provided a visible and reassuring presence late at night at Ealing train station.
🚰The stand allowed easy access to support including domestic abuse information leaflets, phone charging facilities, free water and crime prevention advice- aimed at those travelling through and around Ealing to bars and pubs during the festive period.
🚄Faith Liaison Officer Mo Dar coordinated over 15 local volunteers who supported officers each night. British Transport Police and Ealing Council Park Guard also visited the stand.
📱Across December, officers engaged with over 400 people. Officers assisted in phone charging for over 30 individuals and the distribution of 200 bottles of water. Several incidents were also dealt with, including assaults, anti-social behaviour and first aid assistance.
🚕 In addition to providing reassurance, officers dealt with several incidents, including drunken and disruptive behaviour on trains, a report of common assault on the Elizabeth line, administering first aid to an individual outside the station, and addressing multiple cases of anti-social behaviour in and around the station. Officers assisted multiple women in getting home by charging their phone so they could order Ubers and waited with the women whilst they did so. They all expressed their gratitude, saying the officers’ presence made them feel far less vulnerable.
The event was a great success, and due to positive feedback, will be continuing on selected Friday and Saturday nights throughout the year and will be expanding to other train stations across Ealing Borough.
